I received my helicopter rating (PP-RH) in 1990. All of my 100+ hours, so far at least, have been in the Robinson R22. I like the R22, but wish I could fly more often. Having a family cuts not only into the amount of spare time that I have, but also into my spare cash as well....sigh. I've flown sailplanes a bit, and soloed several times. Although I enjoyed the soaring, my feelings about flight are probably best summed up by this quote.

If and when I win the lottery, the MD 520N (above) would probably be my first choice of personal aircraft. However, I would consider myself lucky to be able to one day afford something as relatively inexpensive as the Dragon Fly (left). As it is right now, I would be very lucky to ever have enough money to even buy a Mini 500 (right). Either way, it's nice to dream. Popular Mechanics (the magazine) has two short movies of the MD 630N and MD 520N in flight. They are well worth the download time. I hope that you find the following links of interest.
